Grace- White-water Rafting in Canada  Ellie Sim- I Fell Off a Horse!

Q1:Week 2 My Story

I am standing on the beach with my two dogs, Bella and Roxie, and my sister getting ready to take family pictures. As the photographer approaches,  we start to take the leashes and collars off of Bella and Roxie. The whole time I am taking Bella's collar off I am thinking to myself, " I know she is going to run away any minute" and "I really hope she does not spot a bird". My sister and I begin to sit down with our dogs sitting next to us, when to our dismay Bella sets her eyes on a bird flying above us. As I am reaching my hand to get a hold of her, I am a  moment to late. Bella has taken off. I stand up and start chasing after her while everyone else is shouting her name. All I can hear is faint noises and all I am hoping for is the bird will change directions and start flying back to the photographer and my sister. As I am running after Bella,  people are just looking at her running but no one will grab her. Luckily, just as I was about to think of another

Q1: Week 2 Reading Response- Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

My second free choice book for summer reading was Me and Earl and the Dying Girl . As I was reading this book,  I had many questions about the main character Greg. This is because I could not figure out why Greg had to laugh off every situation and not deal with the facts of any serious problem or situation. Also, Greg can not be himself around others. This makes me upset because I feel like everyone should be accepted for who they are. Something that surprised me in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl , was how the author tried to make a serious problem funny. This was shown when Greg and Earl tried to make Rachel and her illness funny by making a movie to try to "cheer" her up. I chose to read this book because I thought it would be a very good and rememberable book because it was made into a major motion picture. Although, after I finished this book I did not feel this way.

Free Choice- The Time I Went to the Bahama's

The time I traveled to the Bahama's was an unforgettable experience. This trip was filled with lots and fun and amazing memories. I traveled to the Bahama's with my family in the summer of 2017. My family and I went to the Exuma's in the Bahama's. I wanted to go to the Exuma's to see the swimming pigs. This has been a life-long dream of mine ever since I was little. One of the many things we did on our family trip to the Bahama's was go on many boat rides. This was our main way of transportation and an increbible experience. The water in the Exuma's was the prettiest color I have ever seen and the landmarks were amazing. Also, the boat rides took us to see the swimming pigs and swimming iguana's and sharks.  I saw many famous landmarks, such as where Christopher Columbus may have landed and also where the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were filmed.

Response to One of My Free Choice Summer Reading Books

One of my free choice summer reading books was The Crown by Kiera Cass. This book was eventful and full of detail. The Crown held my attention, but at some points in the book I felt like the main point was dragging on a little too long.  As I was reading The Crown , I could tell that the author was trying to get a point across to the readers. This point was that no matter who you are and what the circumstances are, everyone has a chance at everything. I feel like this is what the author was trying to tell us because of the plot twist at the end of the book which makes the author's point clear. The Crown used lots of personification and dramatic irony. These elements really helped to hold my attention while reading The Crown . At some points in the book, I felt like the main character, Eadlyn, was talking directly to me. I feel like this is a good feature in a book that will make it enjoyable to read. Another great thing about The Crown was that it was set in a different time
